Monkey madness! (like u asked in ask dr gwep)

Start: Begin by speaking to King Narnode Shareen in the Grand Tree.
Skills: The ability to defeat a level 195 Demon.
Recommended Skills: Level 43 Prayer and 40 Magic or Ranged.
Quests: Tree Gnome Village and Grand Tree.
What You Need: Armor and Weapons, Anti poison Potions, Prayer Potions, lots of food, method of teleportation, a Gold Bar, a Ball of Wool and Karamja monkey remains or bones.
Recommended Items: Teleportation method (Ring of Dueling or charged Amulet of Glory), Prayer Gear (Initiate or Proselyte armor).

Getting Started

To start just speak to King Narnode Shareen who is found in the Grand Tree of the Tree Gnome Stronghold. He says that he has sent the 10th Squad to destroy Glough’s shipyard in Karamja, but they haven’t returned. Tell him that you’ll help and he will give you a Gnome Royal Seal.

Go upstairs to the top of the tree and ride the glider to Karamja with the Seal in your backpack (Gandius on the Pilot’s map).

With the Gnome Royal Seal in your inventory, head north of the landing spot and enter the shipyard (from the Grand Tree quest). You will need to show your Royal Seal to be able to enter.

Speak to G.L.O. Caranock in his office hut, who will say that the fleet never made it there. Fly back to the Grand Tree (Ta Quir Priw on the map) and talk to the king again.

Gnome Hangar

Go to the second floor and talk to Daero at Burberry’s bar. He will bring you to the hangar, and after he and Waydar speak for a bit, talk to Daero again.

He says that you’ll need to wait for ‘reinitialization’ to be completed before the gliders will fly. You will need to complete a puzzle to finish the process. Search the crates nearby for some Spare Controls, which show you what the finished puzzle should look like.

Operate the Reinitialization Panel to the south of Daero to see the puzzle, which is un-arranged. You need to slide the puzzle pieces to make the scene shown in the Spare Controls. Start from the top at the left and work your way down to the bottom row, going row per row. If you really can’t seem to solve the puzzle, find Glough in his house to the north of the Gnome Agility Course, and pay him 200,000gp to do the puzzle for you. After that, you just need to move 1 piece to finish it.

After completing the puzzle, the room will shake and the gliders will unfold, talk to Daero and Waydar then go gear up because here is where it starts!

Note: If at any time you wish to leave the hangar, you can do so by using the Gnome Teleport Device to the south in the hangar, you will be teleported close to the gnomeball field.

Crash Island

Now is the time to put on your Monkey Madness Survival gear.

Firstly there will be lots of high level monsters attacking you with range and melee in multi combat zones. So good armor is strongly advised, prayer boost is also a big plus here, initiate or proselyte armors are the best choice due to there relatively low cost when lost and good combination of both prayer and defense. For a weapon, a Dragon Mace or a Wolfbane Dagger is an excelelnt choice (primarily the dagger, because it is lightweight and gives the same prayer bonus as a Dragon Mace). Also try to reduce your weight because you’ll need to run a lot, Boots of Lightness, Spotted Capes, Penance Gloves and such can be a great help here.

Your inventory should contain the following things at all times:

  • Ring of Dueling (Can be worn to save one inventory space)
  • Anti-Poisons (Most of the creatures on Ape Atoll are poisonous!)
  • Decent Food (Lobsters and up!)
  • Optional: Energy Potions, Strange Fruits (obtained from a ‘Plant’ Random event) or Purple Sweets. Also a Prayer Pot may be Helpful.

Talk to Daero at Blurberry’s bar to go to the hangar again and talk to Waydar there. Say that you’re ready to go and you’ll land on Crash Island near Karamja. For more info about the area, check out the Ape Atoll Guide.

Now talk to Lumdo there who at first refuses to help you . Talk to Waydar, and he will convince him and bring you to Ape Atoll (look out for the small scorpion here and all over Ape Atoll, it can hit up to 15 and poison you through prayer for 12!).

Meanwhile… you’ll see a Foreman and G.L.O. Caranock arguing and plotting at the shipyard…

Ape Atoll

You’ll find yourself on Ape Atoll, head northwest through the jungle and follow the cliff towards the pass. Put your Protect From Missiles Prayer on and try to get through, you’ll be instantly knocked unconscious from arrows but at least you won’t get any damage that way, but it won’t protect you from poison.

You’ll wake up in jail with 3 members of the 10th Squad, and 2 Gorilla Guards. Don’t approach the fence while they’re near, or you’ll be punched (they have a range of 2 squares and hit through the fences much like using a halberd). Talk to the 3 gnomes there to get some more information and take your time to see the guard’s pattern. When both guards are at the north side of the room, pick the lock and hide to the west of the cell (there is a spider there that will poison you hard and respawns really fast, have your anti-poison pots prepared!).

When the guard is going to the other gorilla, run out the door behind him without being noticed. Once outside you head immediately to the north (right) into the tall grass and hide there (Hint: Hiding in the grass works a lot better in low detail mode, some grass will not hide you in high detail mode).

Be careful of the small scorpions here, they can hit 15s and poison you! When you are in the grass, the monkeys can’t see you. Now we have to find Karam, he is just barely north of the crafting shop. You can see the crafting shop of you look east of the jail on your minimap. He is running around in the grass and camouflaged in the same color so it can be hard to spot him at first, but you’ll find him.

After talking to him head to the temple and go southeast to a small building, the Kings Throne Room, to get there go in between this building and the temple as shown on the map, not the other way! Otherwise you will be knocked unconscious by ninja monkeys and you’ll find yourself back in jail. Always move around the village and never through it! When you get there talk to Garkor, the squad leader, who needs you to rescue his 3 men and to talk to Zooknock about a disguise.

Now its time to get a few things before seeing the mage. Head to the Depot to the west and enter through the back door. (never go through the town, always go around it)

When you are inside search the Depot but don’t go out the shaded area or you will get ko’ed by the ninja monkey’s. Search the crate in the southeast corner to find a secret entrance, go down the entrance (Some damage will be dealt because of falling down) and then search the crate in the northwest corner for for an M’Amulet Mould. Go back up and walk along the east wall. Search the crate near the trap door for some Magical Monkey Dentures.

Now teleport out of Ape Atoll and refill your supplies. If you can’t teleport, you can climb out of the cave and you’ll find yourself in house close to the gates. Get out of the house and RUN back towards the sergeant. then RUN past the graveyard, up the ladder, and then jump off the ledge to find Lumdo, but it is STRONGLY advised to teleport to Al-Kharid and use the glider there to get back to the Grand Tree, the chances of getting caught while leaving the Ape Atoll are extremely high.

The Mage

Getting to the mage is the most dangerous part of the quest and you’ll have to do it at least 2 times. For this part it is strongly advised to wear the best prayer gear you have (Initiate or Proselyte armor, a Broodoo Shield or Holy Book, a Holy or Unholy Symbol and the best mace you can wield) together with some weight reducing items like Boots of Lightness, Spotted Cape and Penance Gloves. Also take 3 full Anti Poison Potions, one or 2 Prayer Potions (better to be safe then dead), (Super) Energy Potions or Strange Fruits or Purple Sweets and a Ring of Dueling or charged Amulet of Glory. Don’t forget the Gold Bar, the Magical Monkey Dentures and the M’Amulet Mould. Fill the rest of your inventory with good food.

Hint: Drinking a Super Anti-Poison potion after your first trap protects you long enough to finish the whole dungeon, this can be really handy to spare some inventory space since you will only need one then. When you have everything, head back to Ape Atoll and enter the dungeon in the south of the jungle. It’s a very long cavern full of Zombie Monkeys and Skeleton Gorilla’s, traps and falling rocks. Hiding under the ledges when the screen shakes avoids the falling rocks but it is better to just take the damage and make a run for it. Have the Protect from Melee Prayer on all the time to protect you from the zombies and skeletons, this is a multi-combat zone so they will swarm you!. The traps and falling rocks will still hit and poison you through your prayer but you’ll be safe from the skeletons and zombies.

The spike traps in the ground are marked with 5 black dots on the floor, when you walk over them you will get damaged and poisoned. Try to avoid them as much as possible.

At the end, you’ll meet up with Zooknock, the squadron mage. He needs a Gold Bar, the Magical Monkey Dentures and the M’Amulet Mould to make an monkey speak amulet. Give them to him and he will give you your M’Amulet Mould back and an Enchanted Gold Bar.

You will need to bring these to the Temple on Ape Atoll later on to make the Amulet. Now it’s the best to teleport back to Al-Kharid and take the glider there back to the Grand Tree. If you can’t do that use Home Teleport, and if that is impossible too you can go back through the Tunnel climb up and head back to Lumdo.

The Greegree

Restock and recharge your prayer (if you use a ring of dueling you can restore fast in the dueling arena), take the Ball of Wool, Enchanted Gold Bar and the M’ Amulet Mould with you as well as the normal Monkey Madness Survival Gear.

Head to the town the usual way by getting captured and then head to the temple. Inside the temple use your Protect from Melee Prayer, the guards can easily hit 15+ and it’s a multi-combat zone. You can also restore your prayer here at the big gorilla (Marimba) statues. Don’t let the gorilla’s trap you here as they will swarm you and you can’t walk through them! The only spot where they can successfully trap you is at the stairs and the trapdoor. If this happens go down or up and wait a while until the guards have resumed their normal pattern.

Monkey amuletGo through the trap door downstairs and use it on the Fire Walls near the entrance to make an M’Speak Amulet, use a Ball of Wool on it and wear it.

Now head to the Monkey Child in a house in the northwest of the city, don’t forget to go around the village and not through it. Speak to him when he aunt is away, take time to observe her pattern. Tell him that you’re his uncle and when his aunt comes near, hide! Otherwise you will end up in jail again. His aunt says that if he picks 20 bananas, she’ll give him a toy.

So pick 10 Bananas for him (just tell those are 20, he can’t count) at the banana tree patch near the gate of the town and give them to him. His aunt will then give him a toy, and then you can ask to borrow it. He’ll give you a Monkey Talisman.

Go get a Monkey Corpse or Bones (Both will work) from a Karamja Monkey on Karamja by killing it by either ranging or maging it, and bring both the Corpse or Bones and Talisman to the Mage the same way as before. You’ll now be able to transform into a monkey.

Advantages of being a Monkey:

  • Nothing will attack you on Ape Atoll!!! (So you can now run around, chop mahogany and teak, … safely on the Atoll)
  • You can use the big gate without being target practice and ending in jail.

Reminder: Always have 1 spot free in your inventory when wielding a monkey greegree, when you leave ape atoll it will get unequipped and you will drop it when you have no room for it. Also it is best to use a teleport device now, since you can’t cast spells in monkey form.

Monkey Alliance

From now on, always stay in Monkey form on Ape Atoll. Go back to the Sergeant Garkor. He wants you to make an alliance between the Karamja Monkeys and Marim Monkeys. Talk to the Elder Guard and he says that you need Kruk‘s permission to enter. Speak with Kruk, the monkey who shouts to open the gates when you enter in monkey form. He can be found near the gates up the second hill. To get to him, go just west of the bamboo gate after you have gone through and then follow the path up to a ladder, go up the ladder and across the bridge, then go down the next ladder. Once there you will find Kruk.

Kruk will take you to the Monkey King, Awogwei, and he wants you to bring back a monkey from the Ardougne Zoo.

Go to the Ardougne Zoo with your Greegree and M’Speak Amulet, transform into a monkey and talk to the monkey minders outside… you’ll be put in a cage! Talk to a monkey and promise to free it, it will then climb into your backpack. To get out again just revert to normal form and talk to the monkey minders.

After a lame excuse about how you got in they will let you out with the monkey in your backpack.

Now WALK (Warning: do not teleport OR log out! If you do that you will no longer have the monkey in your inventory!) to the Grand Tree and get back to Awowogei. He will think about the alliance.

SigilGo back to the Sergeant and he will give you the 10th Squad Sigil. Don’t wear this until you’re ready to defeat the Jungle Demon!!!!

When you loose this sigil you can get a new one from Waymottin who is one of the gnomes standing next to Zooknock the mage, so you will have to go through the whole tunnel again if you happen to loose the sigil. Don’t forget you can do this in monkey form and thus avoid all combat, but not the traps and falling rocks.

Recommended: When you receive the sigil from Waymottin, drop the sigil and talk to him again. He will give you another sigil. Pick the sigil you dropped up, and you will have two of them in your inventory. In case you die during the monster at the end of the quest, you will lose the sigil, therefore having to re-enter the long cave again.

Final Fight

Much feared this Demon is but when you follow the tactics in this guide and you have at least 37 Prayer for the much needed Protect from Magic Prayer you will be fine and the Demon will be dead in no time.

What you Need:

Ranged:

  • 1x Antipoison potion,
  • Good food (Lobsters or better recommended, but not really needed if you do this right).
  • about 60x arrows mithril or better
  • Best Dragonhide that you can wear
  • M’speak amulet
  • Monkey Greegree
  • 1x Prayer potion
  • Holy or unholy symbol, to keep prayer up for a longer time
  • Best Shortbow you can wield (preferably yew or better)
  • Ava’s Accumulator from Animal Magnetism Quest
  • Optional: Holy Wrench (Makes prayer drain slower and helps Prayer Potion effectiveness)
  • Optional: 1x ring of life, just in case…

Mage:

  • 1x Antipoison potion,
  • Good food (Lobsters or better recommended, but not really needed if you do this right).
  • The runes needed for casting your best spell
  • Best mage robes that you can wear (mystic)
  • M’speak amulet
  • Monkey Greegree
  • 1x Prayer potion
  • Holy or unholy symbol, to keep prayer up for a longer time
  • Broodoo Shield for extra mage and prayer boost
  • The staff used for the spell you need, mostly air staff but depends on your runes.
  • Optional: Holy Wrench (Makes prayer drain slower and helps Prayer Potion effectiveness)
  • Optional: 1x ring of life, just in case…

Cannon:

  • 1x Antipoison potion,
  • Good food (Lobsters or better recommended, but not really needed if you do this right).
  • A cannon
  • About 60 cannonballs
  • M’speak amulet
  • Monkey Greegree
  • 1x Prayer potion
  • Holy or unholy symbol, to keep prayer up for a longer time
  • The best prayer gear you have, Initiate or Proselyte, Monk Robes, Holy Book, Dragon Mace
  • Optional: Holy Wrench (Makes prayer drain slower and helps Prayer Potion effectiveness)
  • Optional: 1x ring of life, just in case…
  • Optional: Runes or Bow and Arrows to attack the Demon too

As soon as you wear the sigil, switch to run. When the screen shakes, which should be a short while after you wear the sigil (this is to save that extra prayer point) turn on Protect from Magic.

Tactics:

Do NOT melee the demon except as a last resort, it would be suicide either way. It consistently hits 30+ damage on both magic and melee attacks!!

1. Safe Tactic:

As soon as Garkor is done talking, make a run for the nearest bridge. Cross it, and run over to the corner nearest to the members of the 10th squad. Be careful of spike traps along the way! Once at the corner, the Demon will be unable to mage you, so its safe to turn off your protection prayer. From this viewpoint you should also be able to see the Demon’s hp. Now is the slightly tougher part. Wait for the gnomes to weaken the Demon until its hp bar is nearly completely red. If you miss the timing, the demon will regenerate and you’ll have to do this again.

As soon as you see the hp bar turn red. run back out (don’t forget your protect from magic) and try to K.O. the Demon with some quick hits. The best place to do this is on the bridge that you ran out from earlier. The demon will be unable to melee you and your protect from magic will take care of the rest.

Further Notes: You are unable to range or mage from the ledges, but you can do that on the bridges to the same effect. Let the gnomes do all the hard work for you, don’t risk your life weakening it in the beginning!

2. The Hard Way:

Make sure your Protect from Magic Prayer is on then start auto casting or ranging the demon. Sip from your Prayer Potion when needed and above all keep distance! Don’t let him hit you with melee. As a ranger you could use poisoned arrows to hurt the demon even harder, with Ava’s Machine you can reclaim your arrows easily.

3. Cannon:

Make sure your Protect From Magic Prayer is turned on and take distance from the Demon to make sure it doesn’t hit you with melee. Set up your cannon, load and fire it. Now you can wait and in the meantime range or mage it or you could hide behind the statue where the demon can’t mage you. When needed go reload your cannon, don’t forget to turn your prayer back on and be sure to stay clear of it’s melee attacks! This is by far the easiest way but also the most expensive.

Finishing the Quest

Once the Jungle Demon is dead, speak to Garkor, and then Zooknock. He will teleport you to the west coast of Ape Atoll, just north of the gates. Head back to the Tree Gnome Stronghold where you can talk to the king and receive your reward.

Start: Talk to Mistag in the Dorgeshuun Mines.
Skills: 23 Agility, 23 Thieving, and the ability to defeat a level 50 enemy.
Quests: Lost Tribe.
What You Need: A light source (lit candle, oil lamp or lantern), two sets of H.A.M. robes (set consists of: hood, shirt, logo, bottoms, cape, gloves and boots), rope.
Recommended Items: Spiny Helmet to prevent getting hit by Wallbeasts or food to heal from their attacks, tinderbox if you use a candle, oil lamp or torch, Lumbridge teleport runes.

Getting Started

First, head over to Lumbridge Castle. Climb down the trapdoor in the kitchen, enter the hole in the room with the crates and ask Kazgar to take you to the mines. Once there talk to Mistag. Ask him “What is this favour?”He will say that they think that HAM might be plotting against them and are going to send an agent to check it out, and they want you to be a guide. Accept it.

Talk to Mistag again and have him take you to the mine exit. Exit the caves to Lumbridge castle basement, climb the ladder and speak to Zanik. Make sure you have your 2 full sets of H.A.M. clothing with you.

Give her the robes and take her outside, and then you’ll see a cutscene such as the one below:

Zanik will ask you to show her around Lumbridge. The people you need to talk to are: the Duke of Lumbridge, the Priest at the Church, Bob at the axe-shop, shop-assistant or owner at the General Store, any Goblin and a man or a woman. Once you have spoken to all people needed Zanik will explain how she got the mark on her forehead. Zanik will now take one H.A.M. robes and put them on.

After that, she will talk to you, and you will ask her about the mark on her forehead. You will see a cutscene. Tears of Guthix gave her the mark and it will glow when it’s time. But for now go to the HAM lair and Zanik will be in her HAM robes.

Head for the entrance of the H.A.M. dungeon, pick the lock on the trapdoor and enter. Speak with one of the H.A.M. Members and he will tell you Sigmund and Johanhus Ulsbrecht are “planning something big”.

Find Johanhus Ulsbrecht in the south-east corner of the dungeon near the prison and talk to him. He will not give you any information.

Walk to a spot a bit west of the door and Zanik will spot a trapdoor. Pick the lock and enter.

Once inside, you will need to kill 5 different guards.

For the first guard there, distract him by talking to him, before finishing the conversation walk 1 square to his west and Zanik will kill him using her bone crossbow.

Squeeze through the crack and enter the room to your north. You now can do one of two things: either squeeze through the crack to the north when the guard in the corridor is walking east and run to the guard in the western corridor, talk to him and Zanik will kill him. Or you can pick-lock the eastern door, walk one square to the north, talk to the guard and Zanik will kill him.

Stand on the corner of the 2nd east-west corridor and once the guard starts walking east say “NOW!” to Zanik and she will take down guard number three.

Go to the end of the 2nd east-west corridor and tell Zanik to wait. Once the guard in the north-south corridor is at the northern end walk quickly south and Zanik will kill guard number four.

Head to the north end of that corridor but stay out of sight of guard number 5. Tell Zanik to wait and run through the 2nd east-west corridor to the north end of the western north-south corridor. Show yourself to the guard and Zanik will take down the last guard.

Listen at the big door and the guards will be talking about a machine. Both of you will get caught by a guard. You will end up in prison, pick-lock the door of the prison and exit the H.A.M. dungeon. Just to the south-west of the dungeon entrance will be Zanik’s body, killed by the guards.

You will see that the mark is glowing! Take the body to Juna the snake, who can be found at the entrance to the Tears of Guthix Mini-Game.

Unwield any weapon you might have, you need both hands free for this. Juna, as usual, will ask for a story but you will tell her Zanik is dead. Juna will say her death was premature and, after talking with Guthix, she will resurrect her.

For this she needs 20 Tears of Guthix. Using Zanik’s bowl you will enter the cave, collect the tears and once you have collected the 20 needed you will automatically exit and Zanik will be resurrected. When collecting the tears you need to remember just to collect from the blue stream. The green stream will deduct from your collected tears. Zanik will learn about her destiny to lead the Goblins into a New Age.

Zanik will now tell you about what she heard at the door in the Dungeon: The master plan to destroy the home of the Cave Goblins. Using a machine to divert water from river Lum to the caves.

The easiest way to leave the Lumbridge caves is to bring a Lumbridge teleport. If you do teleport then you will need to find, and talk to, Zanik in the Lumbridge Castle cellar. If you didn’t bring one walk back and from the tunnel exit keep heading north until you find a hole you can go through: That will bring you right back to where Kazgar is.

Head to Lumbridge water mill across the river. It can be found just south of the chicken farm opposite the cow pen. Talk to the dwarf there and agree to help transport the machine parts.

Search an empty crate and Zanik will say she can hide inside so you can carry her downstairs.

Go down the trapdoor and walk west, you will find Sigmund and four helpers. Sigmund will use protect from melee. Attack Sigmund

Kill him and he will leave with an old-fashioned line:

Kill the four helpers first and then Zanik will attack Sigmund with her bow. Sigmund now switches to protect from range and you can kill him with melee. Well, not kill actually. He is wearing a Ring of Life and shouts you will meet again.

Destroy the nearby Drilling Machine by smashing it:

Zanik will now tell you to take the south leading corridor to return to Mistag.

Talk to him and…. Quest complete!

Quest-Obtained Items: Machete, Papyrus, Radimus Map.
Recommended Items: Decent armor, food, Prayer Potions.

Note: For the skill requirements, you can use items which boost your skill level for a short time to complete this quest when you don’t meet the requirements. See the appropriate skill guide for ways to boost your level temporarily.

Getting Started

First, enter the gates of the Legend’s Guild, and speak to Sir Radimus Erkle in the small shack left of the doors.

You can find some Papyrus on the table, as well a a Machete in the cupboard.

You will be given 3 tasks: Map the Khazari Jungle, befriend the Natives and bring back a token of their friendship. He will also give you some Radimus notes.

Mapping the Jungle

Take three pieces of Papyrus, some Charcoal, a Machete and a Rune Axe, and your Radimus Notes, and head to the Khazari Jungle, south of Shilo Village. Speak to one of the Jungle foresters near the Jungle Wall. He’ll tell you he’ll give you a special item, if you show him something ‘impressive’.

Enter the jungle by cutting yourself a way through the Jungle Wall, with your Machete and Axe. You have to map the West, Central and East Jungle.

Walk around, going to each part, and clicking ‘Complete Radimus Notes’ once you’re in a certain part, until you mapped all three parts. Bring the map back to the Jungle Forester. The Jungle Forester will give you a Bull Roarer, which you’ll need along your quest.

Here’s a map of the Khazari Jungle:

Ugandulu

Try out your brand-new Bull Roarer, somewhere in the Jungle. Be careful, as it may attract Jungle Wolves and Jungle Savages! After a little while, Gujuo will appear. Show your good mood and be friendly to him. He says that he needs help to save one of his friends, Ugandulu.

Go west along the Jungle Wall, until you find three rocks, which you can ‘search’. They are located at the number 2 point on the above map.

Search them, and try to squeeze through (50 Agility needed). You’ll be in a cave with a Fire Wall, and in the middle will be Ugandulu. Investigate the Fire Wall and speak to Ugandulu, who will tell you that only Holy Water will extinguish the flames.

Leave the cave and call for Gujuo again.

The Holy Water

Gujuo will tell you that only a bowl made from the ‘Metal of the Sun’ will hold the Holy Water, and he will give you a sketch of the bowl. Head out of the Khazari Jungle, bank in Shilo Village and take a few gold bars, along with a hammer, and head to a nearby anvil. There’s one in the northern part of Tai Bwo Wannai. Use a gold bar with the anvil (50 Smithing required) and make a Golden Bowl (this can fail).

Go back to the bank and get a Lockpick or two, Pickaxe, SMELL runes (1 Soul, 1 Mind, 1 Earth and 2 Law) and the 7 gems. Don’t forget your Axe, Machete, Map and food! You may also want to bring along 1-2 Prayer Potions for the enchantment too, as it’s possible to fail (and have your prayer drained).

Now, go to the Holy Water Pool, located in the central section of the Khazari Jungle. Look on the map to find out where it is. There are tall reeds near the Pool, so use your Machete on them to get a Hollow Reed (this is not rare!). Use this reed on the Pool to fill your bowl. After that, the Reed becomes unusable and will be tossed away. Do not try to leave the Jungle with the Holy Water, or it will be gone!

Before you head back to the the cave with flames, signal Gujuo with the Bull Roarer. He will congratulate you on getting the Gold Bowl filled with Pure Water. Ask him to enchant your bowl, but make sure you have 42 Prayer points! Otherwise, Gujuo will not enchant till then.

Note: It’s possible that the enchantment will fail, and your prayer will be drained. If your prayer isn’t high enough, you won’t be able to have the bowl enchanted.

Once you have the Pure Water enchanted to Holy Water, return to the cave and use the Holy Water on the Fire Wall. You will be able to walk through the fire now without being damaged. Now, inside the Fire Wall ( or Fire Ring), search the desk to find a fairly heavy book more on Ugandulu. Read the book, then speak to Ugandulu. He will seem to change before your very eyes and throw ( cast a spell) you out of the fire. You can get hurt up to 8 damage.

Helping Ugandulu

Look for a Bookcase with a hole behind it, on the northern wall, and search it.

You’ll eventually manage to squeeze through. Continue along the path and you’ll see a large Ancient Gate. Use your Picklock with it, and you’ll unlock it (50 Thieving required).

Next, you’ll see three Boulders on your path. Crush each of them with your Pickaxe (52 Mining required) and continue. You’ll see a Black Gate; you have to use your Strength (50) to open them. You may fail and temporary loose some strength levels.

Run south past the level 83 Deathwings and you should find a Jagged Wall. Jump over it and continue along the passage, until you find a Marked Wall on your left. Search it, and you will find a riddle; you have to place the SMELL runes in the correct order on the wall, which is: Soul, Mind, Earth, Law, Law. Common Sense. This only needs to be done once.

You’ll be in a room with water pools and stalagmites now; place your gems on the stalagmites. Once you’ve placed a gem correctly, it disappears from your inventory. Just try until you’ve got them all right. You’ll be lifted into the center of the cave, and you’ll receive a Book of Binding. With this book, you’ll learn how to defeat demons, and how to make Holy Water Vials.

To make Holy Water Vials, you’ll have to fill a vial with Holy Water, and enchant them by clicking ‘Activus’ on the last page of your book, or you can right-click it to enchant multiple vials at once. Blessing vials will drain your Prayer and Magic. Once you’ve blessed them, they can be wielded as a stackable Ranging weapon, and are ready to be thrown at demons. You do not have to make them, most people skip this because they prefer to smash up demons from nearby.

The First Fight

Prepare for battle! If you want to have Holy Water Vials, make them now, because after you defeat the first form of the demon you’ll face, the Holy Water Pool will become contaminated, making it unusable. Head out of the caves. Grab Prayer Potions, food, armour and weapons from the bank, and head back to Ugandulu.
Use some Holy Water from your bowl on the Fire Wall to walk through. Use the Book of Binding on Ugandulu, and a level 182 Black Demon will appear; Nezickchened, your enemy during your quest. He’ll drain your Prayer, so quickly drink a Prayer Potion and turn on Protect from Melee. He’s a piece of cake to defeat. When he dies, you will take some damage – like with the Retribution Prayer.

Into the Caves

Talk to Ugandulu again. He will thank you and give you some Yommi Tree Seeds.

Exit the cave, and try getting some more water from the Holy Water Pool. The water is now contaminated, so bull-roar for Gujuo and ask him what’s happening with the water. He says you must go to the water source itself, and that you’ll need a Bravery Potion before being able to go any deeper. Get some Snake Weed and Ardrigal, and mix them into a vial to make a Bravery Potion. Don’t drink it yet!

Prepare to go deeper. Bring armor, weapons, potions, food, an uncharged orb, runes for any Charge Orb spell, a Rope, a Pickaxe, Lockpicks, Hatchet, Machete and Map. Bring around 6 Prayer potions and fill the rest with food. Be ready to take fight and take damage.

Head back into the cave again, where you placed your gems. To the north of the room you’ll find another Ancient Gate; search it for a riddle.

Cast a charge orb spell on it while holding an Uncharged Orb in your inventory; you’ll be lifted straight through the door. You will need to cast the spell any time you enter through these doors. You will not need to, however, upon exiting.

You are now in a room with a dark hole and a Winch; use your Rope on the Winch, drink your Bravery Potion and go down. You’ll only need to drink the potion once and the rope will remain there for future use. You may fall down and take high damage.

The Fallen Heroes

Try taking the Blue hat that lies on a ground and a ghost named Viyeldi will speak to you. Proceed down the cliff, climbing over the rocks as you go. High agility is a great advantage and you can take a lot of damage here, so be prepared. You can also temporary loose some Agility levels if you fail obstacles.

Once you’re down, you have to beat the 3 Fallen Heroes, San Tojalon (level 106), Irvig Senay (level 100), and Ranalph Devere (level 92). Protect from melee is strongly recommended. You can also fight them using a Halberd or Range them, while hiding behind one of the many little walls, saving lots of Prayer potions.

Each of the warriors will drop a Crystal Piece. Once you have all three pieces, use them on the furnace to the northeast to smelt them into a Crystal Heart. Then use the Crystal Heart on the Mossy Rock in the center of the room to get a Glowing Crystal Heart.

If you look at the minimap, you’ll notice that the rock seems to be in the middle of an eye –the eye of a Dragon head! However, some people say it looks more like a dog.

Now go south to the Shimmering Field, and look for the Recess next to it. Use your Crystal Heart on it, and you’ll be able to pass. Run west, past the Lesser Demons, and you’ll see some Boulders. Try pushing one, but a ghost named Echned Zekin will appear and stop you. Tell him that you’re looking for Holy Water, and he’ll tell you to kill Viyeldi. He’ll also give you a Dark Dagger. If you want your own, drop it, speak to him again and pick it back up

Now, the path splits: you have two choices, a shorter, evil, but more difficult one, and a longer, good, and easier one. If you choose the first option, you will have to fight the Fallen Heroes again in the last battle. Also, if you want to restock food and potions, the second path is the way to go.

Option One:

Go back to the Blue hat. Try taking it, and then use the dagger on Viyeldi. This will make the dagger glow. Take the dagger back to Echned Zekin, who will show you his true form: he is the black demon Nezikchened!

Option Two:

As soon as you get the dagger, take it to Ugandulu and he will give you a Holy Spell. Make sure you do not stab Viyeldi with the dagger! Go back out of the Jungle, and restock food and potions, and bring more Charge Orb runes and another Uncharged Orb. Go back down the caves to the Boulder and try to push it again. Echned Zekin will appear and he will be angry. Cast the Holy Spell and he will turn into Nezikchened!

The Second Fight

As soon as the Demon appears, he will drain your Prayer again. Drink a Prayer potion and turn on protect from melee again. He may throw a dagger at you, causing a lot of damage. Some food is enough to heal from that. Again, this demon is quite easy to defeat. Once you’ve defeated him, get out of the caves. If you climb back up the rocks on the small path, you’ll only have a very small chance to fail, so don’t worry about the return journey.

The Yommi Tree

Bull-roar for Gujuo, and tell him the good news. Now it’s time to plant your Yommi Tree (45 Herblore needed)! Germinate the seeds by using some Holy Water on them. Before you plant them, make sure you have some more Holy Water in your bowl, along with your Axe.

Now look for Fertile Soil: those dots you can see on brown ground. Look on the map to find out where they are.

Use your seeds with them to plant your tree! Immediately use some Holy Water on it to make it grow faster, and after it’s grown, quickly use your Axe on it several times, before it rots. You’ll end up with a totem pole.

The Totem Pole

You’re nearly there! Prepare for the final battle; get some more Prayer potions and food if you want to. Go to the eastern part of the Jungle and use your Totem with the Dark Totem. Nezikchened will appear! As soon as he’s done with his speech, he’ll drain your Prayer one last time. Quickly drink a Prayer potion, turn on protect from melee and fight him. He will only use melee. This demon is strong; have patience. If you took the shorter option before, you’ll also have to defeat the Warriors again.

Once he’s defeated, he will say things like ‘I’ll be back’ etc. You’ve heard that before, eh? Use your Totem on the Dark Totem again, and Gujuo will appear and thank you. He offers you a Golden Totem!

Completing the Quest

Yay! Head back to the Legend’s Guild and give your Golden Totem and completed Notes to Sir Radimus Erkle. He will tell you to meet him in the main hall. Enter the gates and talk to him again.

Start Point: Champion’s Guild

To Start: Speak to the Guildmaster

Instructions:

  1. Talk to the Champion’s Guild Master. Ask him about Rune plate armour and he’ll tell you about Oziach. His house is northwest of the Edgeville Bank.
  2. Talk to Oziach. Ask him about Rune plate, the Anti-dragon shield, and the map pieces. He should give you a key to Melzar’s Maze.
  3. Go to the Oracle, located above the Dwarven Mines, with your Silk, Wizard’s mind bomb, Unfired bowl, and Lobster pot. She’ll tell you about a door in the mines. Go down there. The door is near the northeast part of the mine. When you go through the door, your Silk, Wizard’s mind bomb, Unfired bowl, and Lobster pot should disappear. Check the chest. You’ll get a Map piece.
  4. Grab some food. Go to Melzar’s Maze (it’s south of the Crafting Guild). Use your Maze key on the door. Kill some giant rats until you get a Red key. Use it on the Northwest door. Go up the ladder. Here is a Map if you get stuck in the maze.
  5. Kill ghosts until you get an Orange key. Use it on the door SECOND FROM THE NORTH. A lot of people mess up here.
  6. Kill skeletons until you get a Yellow key. Use it on the MOST southwest door. Go down the ladders until you get to some zombies.
  7. Kill zombies until you get a Blue key. Use it on the northwest door. Then kill Melzar the Mad until you get a Magenta key. Melzar the Mad uses fire strikes, weakening spells, and bare hand fighting. Lower levels are recommended to use armor that has a good magic defence. Go through the door.
  8. Kill the Lesser Demon and he’ll drop the final key, which is Green. There are a few places to range/mage the Lesser Demon. Use the key on the door. Check the chest and get the second Map piece.
  9. Drop by a bank and take out either A) A bow and arrows B) Some runes to mage Wormbrain to death or C) 10k. If you brought the 10k, you don’t need runes for telegrab. If you plan to kill Wormbrain, you’ll need to telegrab the Map piece.
  10. A. Mages/Archers need to just attack Wormbrain in the Port Sarim jail. When he’s dead, use telekinetic grab on the map piece he drops. Use the map pieces on each other to form the complete map.B. Melee Pures/People unable to telegrab need to talk to Wormbrain. Ask him about the map piece. He’ll eventually tell you he’ll sell it to you for 10k. Talk to him again and pay him. He should give you the last Map piece. Use the Map pieces on each other to form the complete map.
  11. Go to Lumbridge and talk to the Duke Horacio in Lumbridge Castle. Ask him about a shield to protect you from a dragon’s fire breath. He’ll give you the Anti-dragon shield. It’s advised that you drop this one, get another one, and pick up the first one. If you ever need more shields just follow the procedure again.
  12. Pick up your 2000 coins, a Hammer, three Planks, 90 steel nails, and your completed Map from a bank. Head back to Port Sarim. Go to the dock east of the food store. Talk to the guy on the dock named Klarense. Keep talking until you can offer to buy the ship. He’ll tell you the price. Buy it. Now, go on board and go down a deck. Use a plank on the hole near you. Keep using planks until the hole is filled. Talk to your swabbie to go off the ship.
  13. Now, go to Draynor. Talk to Ned and he’ll offer to take you to Crandor. Give him your Map and he’ll tell you to meet him at the ship. This is the big fight you’ve been waiting for. Pick up potions, food (tuna and up is recommended), armor and weapons (magic equipment, or crossbow/darts), teleport runes (optional), AND YOUR DRAGONFIRE SHIELD. Since a shield cannot be wielded while using a regular bow, this is NOT recommended (dragon fire frequently hits for 26 damage); a Crossbow and Bolts (or Members throwing weapon) that allows you to use a shield is one alternative for rangers; run into the ruins along the walls of her chamber, she will ignore you, and her fire can’t reach you. This is good for rangers and mages. I recommend full rune with rune chainmail with a rune scimitar.
  14. Go to your ship (The Lady Lumbridge). Go down a deck and talk to Ned. Off to Crandor!
  15. When you get to Crandor, your ship’ll be banged up. Walk off the ship and go up the hill. Follow the path until you reach some King Scorpions. Evade them and walk north until you get to another up point. Go up past here, and dodge the Lesser Demon. Go down the cave opening.
  16. Dodge the Skeletons down here and walk further past the stronger Skeletons. Go through the door.CAUTION: I’d take your potions RIGHT NOW if you have any. If you forgot to bring your Dragonfire Shield, I’d suggest you go get it before even attempting to kill Elvarg.
  17. This is it. Attack Elvarg (level 83). She hits quite hard for a level 83. When I fought her, she maxed out a 10 (with melee, she can hit to 65 with her breath if you aren’t wearing your shield). Eat when you need to, and make sure you don’t die.
  18. When you beat her, you’ll be transported outside her cage. Don’t freak out if a skeleton gets you, just walk towards the Lesser Demons (lvl-82) south and go through the “secret” wall. The command should be “Open”. Your character will “memorize” the location for future use.
  19. Once you’ve done this you can either teleport to Lumbridge, or continue walking out of Karamja dungeon. Head east-southeast, and amid the skeletons you will see a dangling rope. Climb it to reach the outside world, where you will find yourself on top of Karamja’s volcano. To get off Karamja, try the following.
    • Bring money before you leave Port Sarim to fight Elvarg.
    • Kill Skeletons or Lesser demons for the coins they drop.
    • Pack bananas.
    • Kill Imps for items and then sell those to General store (not recommended).
    • Pickpocket the man at the dock (members).
  20. Congratulations, quest complete! Go buy your Rune Platebody, you Champion!
